A Nice Trip to the Forest – Belvedere House Gardens & Park
Posted on February 7, 2010
This morning I headed down the road to Belvedere House Gardens & Park to take some photos just for fun. I wanted to try out my new lens; the Canon 24mm Tilt Shift 3.5L on some landscape type shots.
It was a very gloomy day, but dry and I enjoyed walking around to all the follies. The creative blur in some of the shots is not done in post processing but is created by the lens in-camera. I look forward to using it for weddings and engagement sessions.
Portraits ~ Multyfarnham Friary
Posted on January 6, 2010
A few weeks ago I was contacted by Hannah who wanted me to shoot some portraits for her website.
Hannah is a church musician and classically trained singer from Mullingar. She specialises in weddings, Liturgical occasions and social events and you can find her website here.
We agreed to head out for a shoot between the showers on Saturday and decided that Multyfarnham Friary and its grounds would make a perfect backdrop for some portraits. The rain held off and although it was very cold we were blessed with some striking snowy backdrops.
My Highlights of 2009
Posted on December 31, 2009
The new year is almost upon us and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my clients for a wonderful 2009.
I have shot some stunning weddings, met many lovely families, their babies and much loved pets.
I am looking forward to doing it all again in 2010.
I have put together a slideshow of some of my favourite images from 2009. I hope you like them as much as I do.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my family, friends and clients. I hope you all have a lovely and safe holiday season and can stay off the roads as much as possible.
I LOVE Christmas Eve and spent it this year the same as I usually do, making mince pies and sipping cocktails. I am very fond of a Brandy Alexander on Christmas Eve.
In a few days I will be launching back into wedding album design and I will have plenty of mince pies to keep me going!

John & Sue ~ A Civil Wedding Ceremony in the Bloomfield House Hotel
Posted on October 5, 2009
Last Thursday, for the second time in less than three weeks I found myself in the Bloomfield House Hotel. This time it was to photograph John and Sue’s wedding.
Once again the rain stayed away and everyone had a great day. I found the day to be very relaxed and stress free. Perhaps because everything was held in the one location and we were not bound by any strict timelines. As always though, the day absolutely flew for me and before I knew it everyone was dancing!
John and Sue, thanks for letting me be a part of your day. I had a great time. Here is a sneak peek of your wedding photos.

Does anyone remember this beauty?

That’s right, it’s Aimee. She was five weeks old here and I took this photo two years ago.
Let me introduce you to her brother, Jamie. He is also five weeks old.

Dublin Christening – Rubistyle Lifestyle Photography
Posted on September 20, 2009
On Saturday I drove up to Monkstown to photograph Jaime’s christening. I first photographed Jaime when she was three weeks old and wow, she has grown a lot since! Although it rained quite heavily on the way up it was fine in Dublin and I enjoyed my afternoon with Jaime and her family. Thanks to her family for asking me to come along and take photos.
Jaime was christened in the Church of Ireland, Monkstown with a party held afterwards in the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire.

An ‘Indian Summer’ Wedding ~ Mullingar Wedding Photography
Posted on September 15, 2009
Late last week we had a spell of fabulous weather after a disappointingly wet summer. It was rumoured to last nine days which didn’t quite happen but I think we got three or four days out of it. It wasn’t just dry. It was glorious. Warm, but not too hot, and SUNNY. Yes, that big ball of fire in the sky presented itself to us and happily stayed there all day Saturday for Susan and Allan’s wedding.
I have known Susan for about four years. She met Allan three years ago and not very long after they started dating she came to me and said she had told Allan that when they get married I will be their wedding photographer! Well, fast forward three years to Saturday and there I was, capturing their special day through my lens.
We weren’t to know that the weather was going to be so fantastic so a few weeks ago I bought some pretty umbrellas so we could get outside for some creative portraits even if it was wet. Well, they certainly weren’t needed but I insisted on bringing them along to our portrait session after the ceremony at Belvedere House and Gardens and using them as props anyway. At least I will have them for the next rainy wedding!
Susan and Allan were married in St Patrick’s Church, Dysart in Co. Westmeath. We took formal wedding photos and bride and groom portraits at Belvedere House and Gardens and the reception was held at Bloomfield Hotel in Mullingar.
Susan and Allan, I had a great day. Thanks must go to your families for making me feel so welcome. I can’t wait for you to see your photos when you get back from your honeymoon!

Jaime ~ Rubistyle Newborn Photography

Last night I travelled up to Dublin to take photos of a beautiful newborn baby. Jaime is three weeks old today and was incredibly well behaved and patient throughout her session. If I didn’t know better I would have said she had done this before!
Jaime, it was a pleasure to meet you and your family. Here is a sneak peek for your Mum and Dad, who I know can’t wait to see the photos!

Rubistyle Teen Photography Session In Mullingar
Posted on August 4, 2009
This past bank holiday weekend was very special to me. No, I didn’t go away but I did manage to pull together a shoot I had been wanting to do for some time.
I have known and loved Jessica since she was ten and I have taken very few photos of her over the years. She recently turned eighteen (which I still can’t believe, where did the time go!) therefore I didn’t want to lose any more time. We headed out on Monday to a few locations around Mullingar, despite the threat of nasty weather, and were rewarded with some dramatic skies and fierce winds, but the rain held off until we were done. We had a great time and have already planned our next session, her official 18th birthday shoot. Watch out for it soon. It’s going to be fantastic!
Jess, thanks for being so patient with all my crazy ideas! You are such a beautiful person and it has been a pleasure watching you grow up. I hope you like your photos.

fantastic ames !!
Oh I love them! Great way of ‘breaking’ in your new lens. Can’t wait to see what it can do on sunny/fair days.
That must have been one impressive Building once.. it still looks great.
And I really love your logo. Both in b/w & colour.
