An ‘Indian Summer’ Wedding ~ Mullingar Wedding Photography
Posted on September 15, 2009
Late last week we had a spell of fabulous weather after a disappointingly wet summer. It was rumoured to last nine days which didn’t quite happen but I think we got three or four days out of it. It wasn’t just dry. It was glorious. Warm, but not too hot, and SUNNY. Yes, that big ball of fire in the sky presented itself to us and happily stayed there all day Saturday for Susan and Allan’s wedding.
I have known Susan for about four years. She met Allan three years ago and not very long after they started dating she came to me and said she had told Allan that when they get married I will be their wedding photographer! Well, fast forward three years to Saturday and there I was, capturing their special day through my lens.
We weren’t to know that the weather was going to be so fantastic so a few weeks ago I bought some pretty umbrellas so we could get outside for some creative portraits even if it was wet. Well, they certainly weren’t needed but I insisted on bringing them along to our portrait session after the ceremony at Belvedere House and Gardens and using them as props anyway. At least I will have them for the next rainy wedding!
Susan and Allan were married in St Patrick’s Church, Dysart in Co. Westmeath. We took formal wedding photos and bride and groom portraits at Belvedere House and Gardens and the reception was held at Bloomfield Hotel in Mullingar.
Susan and Allan, I had a great day. Thanks must go to your families for making me feel so welcome. I can’t wait for you to see your photos when you get back from your honeymoon!

This is just fantastic stuff – talk about catching the moment…you’re quite awesome at it, fabulous work!
Wonderful photo’s Amy! You are a really great photographer.
Amy,the photos are beautiful. You can feel the excitement of the preparation and of a clearly very happy bride!Your subjects were lovely and relaxed with you which is fantastic.Very stylish.
You really have such a fantastic eye for detail Amy, and the way you weave all those details in to the broader tapestry of the day lends itself to a solid narrative portrayal. Lovely work! :~)
Beautiful wedding… I especially love the getting ready shots.
So many beautiful details! I’m really amazed at how you were able to draw out the importance of each one. Quite lovely!
Very nice work – well done
Woweee, loving these! The bubbles, the swing, the umbrellas…LOVE. On another note, I love your storyboards too. Do you make them yourself (the template, I mean), or did you buy or download them from somewhere?
