Elaine & Kieran ~ Galway Wedding Photographer
Posted on August 6, 2010
On the August bank holiday Monday I headed to Galway to shoot an engagement session for Elaine and Kieran. I am shooting their wedding in Westmeath next month and we decided to shoot the engagement session in Galway because Elaine went to university there. Also, Kieran is a chef and runs a restaurant with his family called The Galway Plate.
We managed to get some great photos in both locations and had a bit of fun with the restaurant shots and captured some romance at the university.
Enjoy!
Helen & Paul ~ Engagement Session ~ Mullingar Wedding Photographer
Posted on June 5, 2010
In the run up to Christmas last year I received an exciting email from fellow photographer Roberta Cotter telling me she was expecting her first baby this June. I have known Bobbi for a few years now, and in fact, shot my very first wedding with her in Galway in 2008.
After her initial excitement wore off she realised she needed to look after her clients and do something about her summer weddings, as she wouldn’t be able to shoot them herself. This is where I come in. Bobbi shot me a mail to ask would I be free to shoot her weddings and willing to do so. I was thrilled she asked me and didn’t hesitate to say yes even though it was a very daunting thing to take on.
Bobbi, thank you for trusting me with your business and clients. It has been an honour to shoot for Roberta Cotter Photography and every client of yours I have worked with so far has been a pleasure!
This is Helen and Paul. I shot their engagement session on Good Friday and their wedding earlier this month. More on their beautiful wedding later.
For now, here are some of the engagement photos. All photos shot by me for Roberta Cotter Photography and all processing is by Rubistyle.
Kerrie & Aidan ~ Engagement Session ~ Mullingar Wedding Photographer
Posted on April 30, 2010
Kerrie & Aidan first approached me last October about shooting their wedding after seeing this wedding I shot for Kerrie’s colleagues, Thomas & Grainne.
Ever since we met and they booked me for their wedding I have been excited to shoot their engagement session. They were up for anything and even wanted to bring their dog Roxy along for the shoot! I got even more excited when they returned their session questionnaire and there were promises of a Mini, some sports action and a trip to the lake with a bottle of Champagne.
Kerrie and Aidan, I hope you like your photos. I had a fun couple of hours with you and cannot wait to shoot your wedding in July.
PS. Yes, I did have trouble narrowing down the images to post!
This is my second favourite shot of the day. I love how Aidan only has eyes for Kerrie and Kerrie only has eyes for Roxy and Roxy only has eyes for Aidan. So cute!
This is my absolute favourite shot. So sweet.

Kerrie is from Kildare where GAA rules and Aidan is from Tipperary where hurling is king. I think we got some great shots of them playing.
Product Review ~ Engagement Session Guest Book
Posted on February 15, 2010
The Rubistyle engagement session guest book is one of my most popular wedding products. Every couple who has had one of these books at their wedding has been so happy to have such a personal keepsake of their day and they are such a hit with the guests. So much so that I am now offering them in my Diamond and Ruby wedding photography packages. Included in all of my wedding packages is an on-location engagement session where I will take the photos I use in the guest book which I design myself. You can also add on the guest book to your package if you choose the Emerald or Sapphire package or make up your own package.
The guest book below was designed from this engagement session, and you can also see another guest book I have designed from this engagement session.
My Highlights of 2009
Posted on December 31, 2009
The new year is almost upon us and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my clients for a wonderful 2009.
I have shot some stunning weddings, met many lovely families, their babies and much loved pets.
I am looking forward to doing it all again in 2010.
I have put together a slideshow of some of my favourite images from 2009. I hope you like them as much as I do.
Engagement Session ~ Belvedere House Park & Gardens ~ Mullingar
Posted on July 6, 2009
On Sunday I headed out to Belvedere House Park & Gardens to photograph Susan and Allan for their engagement session. It ended up being an epic session as there were so many lovely spots to take photos and we had trouble ruling any of them out. Almost four hours later and many miles walked we finished up outside the Jealous Wall where my still willing subjects posed with Allan’s prized motorbike.
Susan and Allan, I hope you guys had as much fun as I did! I look forward to being your wedding photographer in September.
Engagement sessions are included for all weddings I photograph. Please get in touch if you would like to know more about Rubistyle wedding photography.

Engagement Session in Bloomfield House Hotel
Posted on May 24, 2009
John and Sue first contacted me in January in regard to their wedding photography in October this year in the Bloomfield House Hotel in Mullingar. We have chatted through emails since then but only got to meet in person this weekend. John and Sue live in England and had some wedding arrangements to finalize, hence their trip to Ireland and our meet up to take some engagement photos before the wedding.
John and Sue, it was lovely to meet you finally! I am so sorry the weather gods did not cooperate. We had plans to take some shots in the grounds of Bloomfield House and also the nearby Belvedere House Gardens and Park but we were rained out. We did get some shots in the hotel and just outside it and discussed some great ideas of where we may shoot if the weather doesn’t agree with us on the wedding day.
Safe trip back to England on the ferry and I hope you enjoyed your first time in front of my lens!

Engagement Session Guestbook
Posted on April 29, 2009
Today I received a guestbook back from the printer for my wedding this coming weekend in Belle Isle castle, Fermanagh.
I am over the moon at the quality of this book. It is 20 pages, 8×8 inches with hinged pages which mean they lay flat for signing.
The pages are lovely and thick and just ooze quality. There is plenty of room around the photos for your wedding guests to sign the book.
If you are thinking of getting an engagement session done (you don’t have to be engaged or getting married, these sessions suit all couples) and would like a press printed book to remember the occasion, then please get in touch. I can bring one along to your consultation or session. For now, here are some photos of the book.

Engagement Session in Mullingar
Posted on April 29, 2009
To kick off my new blog I thought I would post some photos from a fun engagement session I did last month. Thomas and Grainne are both rugby fans and it just happened that their engagement session fell on the day of the Six Nations final where Ireland met Wales in Cardiff.
They thought it would be cool to incorporate their love of rugby into their engagement session and a rugby ball was one of many props that they brought to their session. I will say no more and let you look at the photos now – I will only add that I was delighted that Ireland went on to win that evening for obvious reasons of course, but also because I think that now these photos of their session are so much more meaningful and memorable for them.
I am travelling up to Northern Ireland to shoot their wedding in Belle Isle Castle this coming weekend. I can’t wait, these guys have style!
We started the session at Captain’s Hill, Lough Owel.

Then we headed to Multyfarnham

And we finished up at the Mullingar Rugby Club

I love the picture with the pole and the ones on the bridge. Fantastic.
Simply simply fantastic Amy! I loved Galway when I visited there some years back. I dubbed it the Brighton of Ireland, though I dare say Brighton is the Galway of England. A fantastically creative place and quite befitting that you’ve created some fantastically creative images there. I couldn’t think of a more appropriately personal theming of a shoot for Elaine & Kieran. I love all the images but am especially endeared by the shot of them kissing through the serving hatch, and the earlier one of them brandishing knives (tender and amusing in equal measure), oh and the ones of them embracing amongst the trees and foliage. All of them really!
Ooh! Great work. Love the one with the wall of ivy!
Wow, great job, way to rock it in the rain. Your locations are perfect for this couple, they look like they would have been fun to work with.
I absolutely love your processing!
Amazing!
I love how you captured them in their working environment at the start of the set, very cool! The whole set is lovely from start to finish.
Last shot is really NICE!
Oh my gosh, what a creative and fun session! I really love the colors and trees in some of the photos.
Hey, these are great! I really like the cookin’ shots. Really really creative.
Wow! Love these. So original and so beautifully captured. I’m sure they love these, I think it’s impossible not to.
I love this concept =)
Love the shots through all the trees and nature. Nice work!
That frame with them kissing through the kitchen window – AMAZING. One of the best frames ever seen from an engagement session. You rocked it!
I really love these. I love seeing them in their Chef whites cooking together. Great job.
I love that you got them just doing what they do! The first photograph cracks me up. Great work!
